Development of custom UI5/ Fiori based applications in SAP HCM for EGA

Emirates Global Aluminium (“EGA”) is owned equally by Mubadala Development Company of Abu Dhabi and Investment Corporation of Dubai. EGA is an aluminium conglomerate with interests in bauxite/alumina and primary aluminium smelting; with plans for significant local growth and international expansion.

EIM Solutions understood EGA’s processes and requirements and developed SAP Fiori Mobility Solutions and applications that perfectly supported the operational business processes.

All HR requests and processes of the client required manual approvals at every stage, causing delays, lowering productivity, hiking man hours expended, maintaining physical records and entering data in the system. Employees had to constantly follow-up with the approvers. Also, they did not have the option of viewing their swipe timings and other personal information on the enterprise portal (ESS/MSS).

The client wanted to implement a SAP HCM system automating the workforce planning, recruitment, training, promotion and data management processes, in accordance with current and future business requirements. This would enable the organization to effectively manage contracted manpower and thus maximize productivity.

EIM Solutions delivered a unique custom UI5/ Fiori based applications in the SAP HCM realm. . The employees were now able to view their personal records and raise requests via the solution. Employees receive email notifications on approval/rejection of requests. Managers were also able to see pending approval requests at a glance and approve/reject them. The solution automated payroll activities such as salary advance requests, loan applications and such. In addition, an application automating the PO workflow was also created and deployed as part of the package.

Created SAP User Roles and Authorization Accesses based on the location and department of the various individuals. Once this was done, it became convenient to locate the concerned employees’ workflows, recreate and assign the same to them in the new system.
